WORKSHOP #1

Saturday May 13th, 2023 | 9am - 12pm

3 hours
- Part 1: First 30 min will be an introduction time and refresher on video lessons (specifically the relationship of the exposure triangle), a run through of requirements and expectations, as well as a safety brief.
- Part 2: 2 hours will be dedicated to exploring a specified area of the IU campus, taking a series of photos based on prompts provided by Zach.
- Part 3: Final 30 min will be a regroup time where we get together and talk about how the time went. What did they notice while taking photos? What surprised them? What was their favorite location to photograph that day? What was challenging about the process? What do they feel needs improvement?
- Consists of prompts to guide the students in their photography.
Final Deliverable
- Each student will submit 3 of their favorite unedited photos from the workshop and send it to Zach with settings listed and a one to three sentence explanation as to why they chose that photo.

3 hours
- Part 1: First 15 minutes will be focused on how to shoot photography in a city, staying aware and safe.
  Part 2: 2 hours will be dedicated to exploring a specified area of downtown Bloomington taking a series of photos based on prompts provided by the Zach.
  Part 3: Final 30 min will be a regroup time where we get together and talk about how the process was. What did they notice while taking photos? What surprised them? What was their favorite location to photograph that day? What was challenging about the process?
- Consists of prompts to guide the students in their photography.
Final Deliverable

1 to 1.5 hours
- This workshop will be completely virtual.
- Prior to the final workshop, students will be expected to submit their favorite photo from either the first or second workshop.
- We will give feedback on what we liked, what we thought could be done better, and most importantly ask questions of the photographer as to why they made the creative decisions they did while taking the photos
